{"id":959,"date":"2016-07-07T12:28:25","date_gmt":"2016-07-07T11:28:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/evapark.city.ac.uk\/?p=959"},"modified":"2016-08-12T13:39:33","modified_gmt":"2016-08-12T12:39:33","slug":"now-recruiting-volunteers-with-aphasia-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evapark.city.ac.uk\/?p=959","title":{"rendered":"Recruiting volunteers with aphasia for therapy studies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">July 2016<\/span>: The EVA Park team are now <strong>recruiting<\/strong> volunteers with <strong>aphasia<\/strong> to take part in a <a href=\"https:\/\/evapark.city.ac.uk\/?p=909\"> new study<\/a>, funded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aphasiatavistocktrust.org\/\">Tavistock Trust for aphasia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evapark.city.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/07\/advert1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-837 alignright\" style=\"border: 2px solid black;\" alt=\"EVA Park SLT Open Day\" src=\"https:\/\/evapark.city.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/07\/advert1.jpg\" width=\"170\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We are looking for <strong>five<\/strong> volunteers for people to do <b>therapy<\/b> in EVA Park. There will be different therapies, targeting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Words<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Verbs<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Sentences<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Telling <\/b>a <b>story<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Communicating<\/b> in<b> everyday <\/b>situations<b>, <\/b>e.g. at the shops<b><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a participant in this study, you would be asked to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do <b>therapy<\/b> 4 times a week for 5 weeks<\/li>\n<li>Have your <b>language<\/b> tested 4 times<\/li>\n<li>Be <b>interviewed<\/b> about your experience in EVA Park<\/li>\n<li>Be <b>filmed<\/b> \u00a0in the tests and interview<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You would do <b>20<\/b> therapy sessions, each lasting approximately <b>60<\/b> minutes.<br \/>\nParticipation is <b>voluntary<\/b>.
