Adapting therapy for a new world: storytelling therapy in EVA Park

The latest EVA Park research paper has been published in the journal Aphasiology.

A collaboration between the Aphasia Lab at La Trobe University Melbourne and City, University of London – the intervention study was an adaptation of Dr Marcella Carragher’s interactive storytelling therapy for the virtual environment. The adapted therapy protocol is available here.

This study explored whether it is feasible to deliver the storytelling intervention for people with aphasia in EVA Park. It looked at whether therapy brought about improvements in the content and organisation of retold video narratives. Changes in functional communication and technology use were also examined.
